Growing up in a rural Staffordshire village, as a result, his understanding and vision of the beauty of the countryside, which he can capture in his paintings. In 1983, at the age of sixteen, he left school gaining a grade A in ‘O’ level art. Furthermore winning the overall school prize for best art pupil.
